CMHC and Road to 2010.

November 20th, 2007
In the past two weeks I have attended two key events in the Vancouver area that have shed considerable light on the likely future of real estate prices in the Lower Mainland over the next year and beyond.   The Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) gave its annual outlook for the real estate market ( and yesterday was the Board of Trade's "Road to 2010 - BC's Economic Outlook in the lead-up to the 2010 Olympic games" featuring an economist/senior VP for Royal Bank (RBC).   It has been difficult to answer the questions about a possible "real estate bubble"...now I have the ammunition to put that myth

Peter Jensen Interview in the Vancouver Courier

November 15th, 2007
Hello everyone!

The Vancouver Courier published on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 an article by Cheryl Rossi titled "Realtor Reality" that discusses with realtors why they became one and what they do.

Cheryl interviewed Peter for this 4 page spread!  Here is an excerpt from the article:

At an exit from the Arbutus Village shopping centre, Peter Jensen pauses his slate-coloured Honda Accord in the thick, grey rain before he turns left. He's got his BlackBerry in one hand, his GPS on, and two colleagues in the car. Minutes later, the Re/Max Arbutus Village agents arrive at the first of seven open houses

WATERFRONT...Great News for Dock Potential at 4759 Strathcona Dr!

October 31st, 2007
Good afternoon and Happy Halloween Everyone!

I just spoke with Mimi Cheung from the Port Authority in the District of North Vancouver and she had some great news regarding the potential of building a dock at 4759 Strathcona Rd property...

As long as the Guidelines that are posted on the Port Authority website (see link below) are met, a dock can be built!

http://www.portvancouver.com/the_port/docs/Residential%20Building%20Guidelines%20v7.9.pdf

The Guidelines deal primarily with the practicalities of height and size of the dock.

If you have any other questions, please do not hesitate to call Mimi Cheung

Are looks important?

October 12th, 2007
So the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver has done a survey to learn about trends in Real Estate. I would like to point out a few highlights over the next couple of weeks.

The greatest surprise to me was that, with the exclusion of price, the most important factor in the purchase of peoples’ homes was STYLE!! (?)…. Fully 40% of actual buyers (not to be confused with "looky-loo’s") considered this to be more important than size or location. This means that a good realtor can strongly impact the return you receive when you sell your home…

August 10th, 2007
Hello Everyone!

Well, I don't think we're getting as much coverage as Britney Spears or Lindsay Lohan but we were "newsworthy enough" to rate the following articles:

(Trying to) Help Keep our City Clean

August 8th, 2007
Wow!

We wanted to help out by getting some garbage picked up…big mistake.

We are NOT going to have garbage picked up.

We started to receive phone calls from CUPE members and their legal counsel.  Soon we had 8 CUPE members out front picketing our office.  I went out front to let them know that we are not going to do the pick ups and so they left…(but I did get some interesting photos…)

Obviously we were not trying to do anything political…

I guess I’ll speak to my legal counsel before I create my next marketing piece….
